Borrowed Earth crafts surfaces, panels and sculptures from natural stone. It celebrates our inviolable connection to nature and attempts to recreate the innate joy of cohabiting amidst it. Conceptualized by Ruchika Grover, the collaborative is a guided journey into transforming natural materials into works of architectural art. A very modern take on intuitive responses and reactions to ‘living.’
The narrative behind Borrowed Earth Collaborative compliments nature’s way of life; a cyclic journey through the passage of time. Simple pictograms reflecting the timeless value of the identity represent what makes the brand Borrowed Earth Collaborative — going back to the first mark of communication. The identity for Borrowed Earth Collaborative is a modern take on these intuitive responses and reactions to ‘living.’ The identity brings in depth and texture through fluid curves and the use of a gradient, representing all forms of duality. Creation - destruction Light - dark Rising - setting - of the Sun Inhaling - exhaling The stippling of the gradient brings in visual texture. The typography, seemingly simple masks well with its surroundings to bring to attention what is being showcased. The photography for Borrowed Earth Collaborative draws parallels between the vast landscapes of earth and the body of work — poetically showcasing what has been borrowed from the Earth and transformed into ’pieces of artistic and architectural worthiness.”
